Learn how to skate and play roller derby

Want to learn to play roller derby?

Great! You've come to the right place.

We can coach you all the way from new skater to fully-fledged league member.

All you need to do is turn up, put some skates on, and summon a little determination.

We'll teach you everything you need to know - from stopping safely, all the way up to making your first contact with another skater.

You'll have access to years of combined skating experience to learn from in a welcoming space.

Some of our skaters are members of international teams, so you'll also benefit from their knowledge and coaching throughout.

If you don't have the kit, we can also loan you roller skates and safety equipment to get started.

Don't let fear hold you back - we'll be beside you every stop (and roll) of the way!

Your first two sessions are free tasters.

We'll start at the beginning: how to roll, how to stop, how to fall safely. Our coaches will support you the whole way, and will also teach you the rules of roller derby.

You'll begin to feel more comfortable with basic skating skills, like weaving, stopping, and crossovers. Our coaches will tick off your skills, and you will be able to start learning safe contact.

With practice and guidance, you'll get used to making contact with others. Once our coaches are happy that you're safe with contact skills, they'll approve your graduation to the main league!

Become part of the team! Continue growing your skills as a blocker, jammer, and skater with the rest of our league skaters.
